Kebony wins prestigious Foreign Investment Trophy

[Flanders: 22 February 2017] Kebony, a beautiful wood recommended by leading architects, celebrates another successful award win, receiving the Foreign Investment Trophy for ‘Newcomer of the Year’. Awarded by Flanders Investment & Trade, Kebony was recognised as a foreign company with an important investment project in Flanders. Kebony was nominated for the award by the Government of Flanders, who listed the company’s highly positive effect on employment in the area as a winning credential.

 

This announcement comes just two weeks after the groundbreaking of Kebony’s new factory in the Flanders region of Belgium, which will bring €20 million of investment for the Belgium economy and the creation of 25 local jobs. Developed in Norway, where Kebony’s original factory is based, the patented Kebony technology, which has taken years of research and development, enhances the properties of sustainable softwood with a bio-based liquid. The process permanently modifies the wood cell walls giving Kebony premium, hardwood characteristics, resulting in significantly improved durability and structural stability.

 

John Verzeele, Director of Inward Investment of Flanders Investment & Trade explained: “Kebony’s new facility in Flanders will provide significant investment for our economy.
